July 4th, 2020 – Independence day in the USA

HAPPY JULY 4TH INDEPENDENCE DAY!

Independence day is a federal holiday in the United States commemorating July 4th, 1776, when the US became independent from England, it is like America’s birthday. On that day, Americans may spend time on parades during the daytime and gather to watch magnificent fireworks when it gets dark.

The custom of shooting off fireworks on Independence Day can be traced back to a quote by our second president, John Adams. He said that he believed that July 4th should “be celebrated by pomp and parade with shows, games, sports, guns, bell, bonfires and illuminations”.

American is a multi-ethnic country with White, Black, and Asian people from many different cultures, that must be the reason why Americans kick up their heels in many different ways, we can open a concert or play baseball, etc. but most people go to picnics and barbeques. It also the day for showing our patriot pride, so it is common to see American flag and people dressed in red, white, and blue.

USA now have to face a big disaster because of Covid-19 pandemic, so every single American citizens need to protect ourselves and our family.
